The Award categories are formulated and adjusted each year to reflect the feedback TLA receives from members, members of the Board, Judges and past entry patterns.  In selecting these categories, TLA hopes to make the awards fair and equitable for all members so they might enjoy healthy competition with their peers.  The categories for this year are.

Residential Construction sponsored by       

  • Residential Construction Up to $50,000
  • Residential Construction $50,000 to $100,000
  • Residential Construction $100,000 to $150,000
  • Residential Construction $150,000 to $350,000
  • Residential Construction $350,000 to $600,000
  • Residential Construction Over $600,000

This category is for landscape construction involved with a single unit dwelling on one or more combined elements of land. This category also includes pool surrounds and landscape features such as brick, stone or timber retaining walls, feature or decorative paving, timber constructions including gazebos, pergolas etc, feature plantings, brick, stone or timber stairs, feature fences, screenings, water features, ponds, fountains etc, bridge/s and/or lighting.

Entries should include where applicable any references to the contractor’s skills and innovation in constructing an environment that has a beneficial impact on the local ecology such as rehabilitation of a site to return it to its natural state.  Please also tell us, if applicable, if the construction has used second-hand or recycled/energy efficient materials and/or has addressed issues such as water retention and/or re-use.  Has the construction used native fauna habitat and appropriate plant selection?

This category is for landscape design involved with a single dwelling unit on one or combined allotments of land. This category also includes pool surrounds, pools (in the context of the entire landscape) and landscape features such as brick, stone or timber retaining walls, feature/decorative, paving, timber stairs, feature fences, screenings, water features, ponds, fountains and structures etc, bridge/s and/or lighting.

Entries should include where applicable any references to innovation in designing an environment that has a beneficial impact on the local ecology such as rehabilitation of a site to return it to its natural state. Residential Maintenance sponsored by                                                      

  • Maintenance Residential up to 1000m2
  • Maintenance Residential Over 1000m2
  • Maintenance Residential Multi

This category is for landscape maintenance at any single house or multi-housing development/community residential dwellings. The contractor must have carried out a minimum of 12 months continuous total maintenance prior and up to the time of entry. Maintenance covers all aspects if maintaining the grounds including all decks and pathways, lawn health, edging, plant health, water features, pruning and mulching.

Commercial & Civil Construction sponsored by

 It is proposed that no changes are made to these categories.

  • Commercial & Civil Construction Up to $250,000
  • Commercial & Civil Construction $250,000 to $750,000
  • Commercial & Civil Construction $750,000 to $1.5 Million
  • Commercial & Civil Construction $1.5 Million to $3 Million
  • Commercial & Civil Construction Over $3 Million

This category is for landscape construction around a commercial, industrial, Government (at any level) or institutional buildings. Apart from factories, shops and office buildings, it may also include hospitals, schools, pedestrian plazas, street closures, malls and forecourt areas etc. It includes projects for major transport infrastructure and civil projects like road systems, rail systems, transport, bridges, airports, dams or waterways.

This category also caters for public space areas of all types and may include soft and hard landscaping. This includes structural elements including detention basins and natural area rehabilitation. Projects can be for landscape construction involved with areas that are designated as active or passive recreation and include sporting ovals, racecourses, golf courses, leisure parks, nature areas, fun parks, animal parks etc. as well as the actual construction of such areas.

This category may also include peripheral or supplementary landscaping to any of the aforementioned projects. It includes landscape construction involved in the development of play spaces specifically for children’s play which encourages educational activities and stimulation.

  • Maintenance Commercial Retail / Business Parks

This may include sporting facilities, racecourses, golf courses, leisure parks, nature areas, fun parks, animal parks, hotels, educational campuses, retirement living, retirement villages, aged care, shopping centres, precincts, industrial and commercial offices.  The contractor must have carried out a minimum of 12 months continuous total maintenance prior and up to the time of entry.

  • Apprentice of the Year Parks & Gardens
  • Apprentice of the Year Construction

The Nominee is an individual who is undertaking an apprenticeship in either Landscape Construction or Parks & Gardens and has been outstanding in all aspects of their training.  A copy of the most recent TAFE results and an appropriate Head and Shoulders Photo must be submitted to assist the Judges.

The Landscape Association does not accept responsibility for loss or damage suffered by any person or body relying directly or indirectly on any information contained within the pro forma contracts or the LNA Master Landscapers Rates Guide Schedule of Rates for Landscape Works. All contracts and Guides are purchased at the risk of those making the purchase.

TLA does not have access to the customer’s credit card number which is encrypted for security purposes. The credit card will be debited at the time of processing the payment. A tax invoice/receipt will be automatically generated and emailed to the customer.

Orders are ordinarily dispatched by Australia Post, Express Post, within seven working days. Five days should be allowed for delivery. This timeframe is indicative only. Every reasonable effort will be made to notify the customer if a delay is expected.

Provided an order has not been dispatched, it may be cancelled in full or part by calling The Landscape Association on (02) 9630 4844. Returns are not accepted by The Landscape Association unless the customer has received an unordered or faulty item, or unless otherwise required under Australian legislation.

The Landscape Association reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
