The Landscape Association has announced that entries for the prestigious 2023 Landscape Excellence Awards are now open.

Highly prized by landscapers throughout NSW and the ACT, the awards recognise individuals and businesses across different categories that reflect the modern landscaping industry.

The awards represent the very highest of achievement in workmanship, innovation, and creativity in the industry. They are open to all members of the association, with entrants and winners encouraged to leverage their involvement and gain brand recognition and exposure for their businesses.

Chair of Judges, TLA Director and former educator, Judy Bates, says she is inspired by the quality of the work submitted each year for the awards. Bates has been involved as a judge since 2010 and says she is always amazed by the entries, which encompass all areas of the landscape business, including maintenance, design and construction of residential and commercial projects.

“It reaffirms my faith in the industry – we have an amazing group of people who do some incredible work,” she adds. “The entries are of a really high quality and showcase the sort of work that our industry does, and I am proud of being part of it.”

She also pays tribute to the professionalism of her fellow judges. “They are giving their time freely and are so enthusiastic and professional about the process,” she says.

Long-term sponsor Glazed Co, has stepped up their involvement to take on Platinum Sponsorship, supported by Gold Sponsors, Andreasens Green, Ideal Edging and Alpine Nurseries. The association is keen to speak with any additional suppliers who are interested in sponsorship opportunities for the prestigious night.

Glazed Co. has been a TLA member since 2021. Director Daniel Chamoun says he believes that being a member associates the company with like-minded business owners who value quality in product and customer service.

“We are proud to be the Platinum sponsor of the Landscape Excellence Awards this year as it gives us the opportunity to meet many of the members in a relaxed setting,” Chamoun says.

“We value this opportunity to learn about the issues facing landscaping businesses and how they are addressing them. As a supplier, it also allows us to listen to landscapers and see if there’s anything we can implement in our own business that will help streamline processes for our clients.”

The award categories are formulated and adjusted each year to reflect the feedback the TLA Team receives from Members, Judges, Members of the Board and past entries.

This year’s categories include:

  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Residential Construction
  • Residential Design
  • Commercial and Civil Construction
  • Residential Maintenance
  • Commercial Maintenance
  • Supplier of the Year across multiple categories

“The excellence awards have helped us become highly recognisable to both potential clients and our peers in the industry. It was a huge boost in morale within our team to be recognised for all their hard work and dedication.”  – Nathan Lindgreen, Dreamscapes Landscaping Services, TLA Member

“This industry recognition from the Landscape Excellence Awards has created a great opportunity not only to showcase our work to our peers, but to be offered a number of media opportunities to connect to a much wider audience.” – Jack Hayes, Fifth Season Landscapes, TLA Member
